"What you love, you protect"

When Jim Karadimos and husband Bill Beever purchased their home in Northborough in the late 1980s, they had no idea how involved they would get with one of the area's most prominent attractions: New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill. Right around the time when Jim and Bill purchased their home, the Worcester County Horticultural Society purchased Tower Hill. They became regular visitors to the Garden where they learned more about the natural environment and were inspired to incorporate some of the garden designs they saw at Tower Hill into their own landscaping. In 2012, Jim was asked to join the Board of Trustees. In 2016, he became Board President. His vision was to make Tower Hill more accessible for all people.

During his tenure, membership, attendance, and donations all grew, allowing for the expansion of the gardens, exhibits, and cultural events. Jim and Bill wanted to help protect the organization they loved. They decided to include Tower Hill in their estate plans through a bequest. This gift qualifies them for membership in the Perennial Circle which honors friends and supporters who make a planned or endowed gift to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill.

Jim said, "Tower Hill has grown to be one of the finest cultural institutions in the area and is dear to our hearts. Through this bequest, we want to honor those who came before us and empower the next generation of environmental stewards to love and care for New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill."
